WellCare Donates $25,000 To Arizona Wildfire Relief Efforts
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs, today announced that the WellCare Community Foundation has donated $25,000 to support wildfire relief efforts in the Yarnell, Ariz., area.
WellCare gave $15,000 to the American Red Cross in support of disaster relief services for those in the affected area; $5,000 to the Arizona Community Foundation’s (ACF) Yarnell Disaster Relief Fund to aid post-fire recovery and community rebuilding efforts; and $5,000 to the ACF Yarnell Memorial Scholarship Endowment, which will provide college scholarships for the children of the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in the Yarnell fire.
WellCare is also coordinating volunteer opportunities for its local employees to collect food and water to help restock the Prescott Food Bank and to organize a blood drive that will support the Red Cross.
